The Princess Grace Irish Library celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. It was inaugurated on November 20, 1984, by Prince Rainier III in honour of his late wife, Princess Grace, her Irish heritage and her attachment to he Emerald Isle, where her grandfather John B. kelly was born.

The heart of the library is Princess Grace's personal collection of books, music scores and other personal objects.

Browse through photo albums of visits to Ireland by the Princess and her family, including the memorable first State visit in 1961 with her husband Prince Rainier III, when the Monégasque Head of State and Princess Grace met the President of Ireland Eamon De Valera and his wife Sinéad.

Discover Irish writers and enjoy the photography exhibition of Ireland's literary greats by John Minihan.

We have plenty of beautiful books about Grace Kelly growing up in Philadelphia and starting her career as an actress, enouraged by her uncle George Kelly, a Pulitzer prize-winning playwright. And of course books about her wedding to Prince Rainier III and her subsequent life in Monaco and her connection to Ireland and America, which remained close to her heart.
